Healthcare

Corner Drug Store - Over the counter remedies and supplies for managing common afflictions galore. Diabetic socks and cough medicine can be easily found here, and the pharmacist won’t have a problem getting your prescription for penicillin filled, but if you need something a little fancier, you might need to go to Christchurch. Let’s face it, if your prescription can’t be filled by Woodend’s pharmacist, you’re probably in Christchurch anyway looking for adequate medical care.

Emergency and Walk-in Clinic - Staffed by nurse practitioners and occasionally by an actual doctor, usually this is the first stop before being redirected to the better-equipped hospital in Christchurch. They can take X-rays of a broken finger and help with your severe stomach flu’s symptoms, but beyond that there’s not much they can do to help you other than redirect you to Christchurch.
